RW Sept 17 #1

So...how did the reading go? Anything interesting? Tell us all about it...using one vocabulary word and one of the sentence patterns we have worked on this week (11, 12, or 13). The book I have been reading this week is called Dragonfly in Amber. It is actually the second book in a series...the main plot of the series is about a woman who falls through a crack in time. Into 18th Century Scotland fell the heroine. She stuggles to dissemble her true identity and fights to return to her home. It is a very interesting book because I love the idea of time travel and I like learning about history.

I forgot my book today so i read one form teh shelf.i ended up reading The Vansihing HAnds. It was a very boring book. The gardner, maid, and neighbor all came to the house to do somethign. And once locked out the gardner climbed the house and saw the man lying threr. they called the police immmediatly. The neighbor had great credence that there might be a chance that he was not dead. From across the lawn the seconded neighbor came. From what i read she had a big butt and chest and not amny men could look at her in the eyes except the detective. i really had no clue what i read.lol. the book was so confusing. and threw mexicans in to it. but yeah ill being my book next time.lol.

i started readnig 'Cell' today by stephen King. it is very, um, interesting. while the main character was in boston getting a comic review, an epidemic broke out. the people started acting like zombies, zombies that exhumed from the grave. (?) the book overall has caught my attention and i am looking forward to reading it. and after all, stephen king is supposed to be a good writer, right?

Today, I read a book called Mossflower, which is the second book in the Redwall series. The series is about this country called Redwall, where all woodland creatres live together. Yes, they talk and sword fight and other human things, but you forget the fact that they are animals as you read. It's a good series. I didn't read much, but I did read a pretty interesting part. Tsarmina, the dictator in the book, had just won a major battle when the opposing troops surrendered. However, she still decries her troops because they didn't take any prisoners or find any info.

Today i read a book called Tantalize. it is another vampire/werewolf book! The main character is a 17 year old girl named Quince who is distraught, distraught over the chef's murder, distraught over her true love leaving to join a werewolf pack. she is having trouble juggling both school and preparing her reseraunt for it's grand reopening! There is something strange about the new chef though...

Today I read part of "The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. It's about a Man named Arthur Dent whose house is about to be destroyed to make way for a bypass. He has a friend named Ford, who reveals to Arthur that he's actually an alien, and that the planet is about to be destroyed. They end up hitchiking off of earth in the nick of time. Unfortunatley, they wind up on a space ship with a deranged, two-headed alien, A girl named Trisha that Arthur had met at a party, and a depressed robot. Also, another unfortunate thing, is that the tea on the ship always turns into a murky, brakish liquid.

The book i read today was called Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Its about a man who likes to dissemble himself from the world, dissemble himself from society, dissemble himself from everything. Since he was a very shy man he wwanted to do something to make himself seem more overt. The back of the book says he plans a murder of an older women but i havent got to that part in the book yet. I did get to a part where he goes over to visit an older women at her house so im guessing its the same person.

Today I started to read a book called At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks. I only read the prologue and about half of the first chapter, but it's good so far. Jeremy, the main character in the book, has the credence that his engagement with a woman he has only known for a week is an okay idea. The book takes an interesting turn on the first couple of pages, however. I definatly wanted to read more because I found out something that I wasn't expecting at all.

today i didn't feel like reading my book that i usually read so i found one off the shelf. surprisingly, it's a very good book. the book is Dirty Liar by Brian James. it's about this boy Benji who is distraught, distraught that he is outcasted, distraught that nothing in his life is going as he planned it. it is a very good book and ended up taking it home and reading the rest off it. i strongly recommend it.

Ed, is the book anything like the movie from a few years ago? And Mrs. Stallman, how does someone fall through a crack in time? And Trish I want to read that book, it sounds good. Plus, Steven King books are bomb. Only 8 people posted a blog, kinda dissapointing. =]

Andera that book seems amazing. Whats up with you and vampires? lol. first mrs.stallman looks like one and then you read books about them. im starting to think ur one.lol.j/k.But vampires are cool there nefarious and sweet. IM not obssesed with nor do i know anything about them. but still they seem sweet.lol.Thec chef, the new one at the restrunut, was probably an old vampire hunter and later retired and is now thinking theres no such thing, until he finds out the main characters secreat. maybe. lol. or hes an alien. either one works.lol. but yeah it dose seem liek a good book. and if my boyfriend went to go join a wearwolf pack i may be a little distraught too.:/

yeah cells getting really good. it kinda graphic, like all stephen king books are, but its good anyway. tantalize looks really good, and so does crime and punishment. its interesting how many people can relate to the whole 'dissemble' thing, and how many people put on an act evry day. ayway, i am looking forward to reading more of 'cell' cuz its really kewl. its got a lot of action, though.

Mrs. Stallman, your book sounds really entertaining. In middle school, I'd written a short story or two about time travel, so I obviously like the topic too. Ed, I hated that movie. Is the book any good? Andrea, I hate to distraught you like this, but I'm a vampire. LOL. Just joking. See you all tmrw.

Stephanie, I think the book you're reading sounds really interesting because it has to do with a crime. When you are finished I might consider reading it if it's good. Andrea, it sounds like you really like vampires a lot. From what you've written, the books sounds really unwonted because unusual things happen.

ed,
i've heard about the movie and i think i've watched a little of it but i think i was bored so i did something else. :/
andrea, i'm still team edward, but this book seems very unwonted from what i read in twilight. i don't think i could handle any other vampire books but the twilight series.

Dylan, Mossflower sounds a little odd, but you're odd, so that makes sense. Andrea, you really like Vampires and werewolves don't you? You, madame, are obbsessed! lol. KAyla, your book should have been about magicians. Oh, and "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" book is almost completely different than the movie. The movie REALLY dissapointed me when it came out.

andrea- That books sound pretty interesting! The girl is only seventeen and she is opening a restraunt? that sounds very cool.
I like reading scary books so this one seams like I would be into it! I like vampire and/or warewolf stories. In fact, one of my favorite movies is Van helsing(it has to do with warewolfs, vampires and frakenstein!).

Mrs. Stallman- The book you are reading sounds like a good book. What caused her to fall through the crack in time? Was the crack like a black hole or something? Where did she end up? Would she have to build a time machine to get back to her time?

Derek - Ummm...if I am not mistaken, in the first novel, she walks between two ancient stones...and just sort of ends up in another century! Dylan, the book is really good; you should read it. Right now, someone in my 10th grade class is reading it, but when she is finished, you can borrow it. I would love to read your short stories!
