How awesome is it to get lost in a good book? What do you enjoy most about reading? Anything interesting happen in your book today? Tell us using two vocabulary words from this week.
Today I read Sam's spanish 3 book. In it was a story about A brave lord who was exiled from Castilla. Him and his men hide in windmills, wheat fields and things like that . But im guessing he ddint have a concord with spain, becuase he decalred war on them. Him and his men hoped to gain a good part of spain and to earn good money from this war. The brave lord was never frenetic about being exiled. He had a plan to get back into his town of Castilla. That is why his people envied him, im sure of.
But thats as far as i got. it took me 15 minutes to translate one pare.lol.
Today I read Rebecca off Mrs. Stallman's shelf. I did no tunderstand most of what it was saying. my mind was in a disarray! But what I have read so far was about a ludicrous dream some one was having. All I got out of it was something about their old home covered in weeds and abot thier garden with trees and nettles.
i read a book today called 'see you later'. its a book about a guy who gt ou of school early and met this girl in a record store. the boy kept nettling her, but in a good way. the boy was a computer game programmer and had already made 5 games. he created a strategem to win the girl over, but he found out that she has a boyfriend. thats how far i got. it is actually a good book, and its kinda funny. but the front tells me that its gonna turn out to be kind of a horror.
I'm still reading "At First Sight." The two main characters are expecting a baby together, and they have to reach a concord on where to live since Jeremy lives in New York and Lexie lives in North Carolina. Jeremy ends up moving from the frenetic city to a laid-back town called Boone Creek, North Carolina, where Lexie lives. I like reading this book because the characters grew up in completely separate worlds but are practically being forced to live with eachother because of their baby. They are also engaged even though they have only known eachother for two weeks. It's funny hearing how different they are and how they are getting to know eachother.
Today i read a book off the shelf i forget what its called but its about this kid and him and his dad like fight with eachother all the time and he's always annoyed at school and stuff so the anger and attitude just carrys on to the teachers, its ludacris. i olny got to like the fourth page and it was talking about how he has like the record of the most sespentions from school and stuff it was crazy..im definatly going to read this book next week cause it was interesting and i dont want to atrophy the good book that i read four pages of! soo thats about it :)
today i read an article pot of my most reacent sports illustrated about the new york yankees and there final season in the old yankee stadium as they make there transistion over to the new stadium which will host many of the leagues all-star games and even world series. the magazine also covers all the history and how it has finaly come to were there will be no more games and how it will live on in the memories of all yakees fans.
Today I read a little bit of "Of Mice and Men". It's pretty good. So far George and Lennie have just been talking about one day owning a farm, and Lennie taking care of rabbits. Lennie keeps mice in his pockets so he can pet them...he kills them all...yeah... Oh, they made it to the ranch they're supposed to work at, and George was complaining because he thinks his mattress has lice. It's not a very fast-paced book, but it's still good.
Today I started my new book called SOULcravings. I know, it sounds weird, I thought so too. But i like searching for answers to big questions such as the truth of god or the meaning of life. I like getting lost in a book because you don't think about the stupid stuff going on around u. =] It's just time for u. But for something interesting, this book is like chicken soup for the soul books. The book tries to evince topics such as the truth about love, god, and searching for the soul. There was an entry from a feckless guy who was stuck behind a coffee addiction. kinda weird.
andrea Rebbecca sounds like a great book. i love books about weird dreams. IT'S GREAT. Why didn't you understand it?
kayla- Spanish three has to read a book in spanish and you understood it? That's amazing! That would be a good book to read. I am very interested in spanish culture.
Ha yeah i did understand it but only the first page. Its hard.(mrs. stallman thats my sentence patterne.hah) but anyways yeah, its ludrcrouse. I was in spanish 2 but i was complete idiot in their and had the teaching giving me pitty points.ha yeah so now im in french 1 and then french 2 next semester. i love how i just gave you my life story of forgein languages too.lol.I think the king had a startgum to lure the other evil ruler away form Castilla. but i dint get that far :(.i dont think i even wanted to get that far i was just happy when the announcements caem on. lol.
Kayla, I think you deserve some kind of trophy for being able to read a whole page in Spanish. I'm going into French 3 and I don't even think I could translate a paragraph. (Here comes my sentance patern!) That's amazing.
Andrea, No vampires, unicorns, or gods this week. Huh? Wierd.
Ed, Your book sounds great. Please continue to update us on it weekly.
some of these books sound really good. and i think that its cool that the yankeesget a new stadium(all the indians got was a new name) and the spanish 3 bok looks ok too, although im in french. and the book ur reading derek looks good.
Kayla- I think it's a little bit ludicrous to make someone read a book in a different language during high school, but since you understand it, I guess it's okay.
Andrea- I would hate having a garden of nettles. They're ugly.
Dylan- Very funny, you and your internet sarcasm, how original...
hahaha kayla. i think that if you were actually in spanish 3 you would do fine. but the book and the stories they have are very interesting and actually happened so you are learning about the culture and the history too. :] so cool! my mind was in disarray the first time i read it but it's getting easier.
Derek, your book sounds really ludicrous, and it's cool how there are so many topics that it talks about. I used to love reading chicken soup for the soul books! I have a ton at my house. I think I might have a coffee addiction just like the guy in one of those entries. I LOVE COFFEE.
Abby, your book sounds really good! i like reading love stories that are similar to this one, the ending always ends up being really good. I also love Nicholas Sparks love stories, but the notebook is my favorite. IT'S GREAT.
