I am still reading The Penny, and i would rate the book as a 3 on teh scale. it gets more confusing as you go on. the books detail takes away from whats happening in teh story. Its kind of like she losses herself in describing it that she forgets theres a story to tell. but on the positive side today i read a maelstorm scene where she picked up a penny and it cause a car crash, someone running after an elvis record and glass bottles on teh ground. it was a surpiring chain of events. i didnt think her bending over would cause so much damage. So hopefully more suprises will be thrown at me through out the book as i read it. :)

Today I read The Titan's Curse, which is the third in a series of books. The series is called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Percy is a teenage kid, who is the son of Posiedon and a mortal. He finds there are many like him.In the first book Zeus has his lightning bolt stolen on him and blames it on the son of Percy.Percy goes on a quest to find it. The second one he helps his saytr friend Grover escape from a cyclops; the very same cyclops Odessyus fought!! In this book he and Thalia(daughter of zeus) venture out to save their friend Annabeth(daughter of athena). There is some betrayl and a lot of surprises in these books!

In today's reading workshop, I read the book "From Bird to Bird." It says it is a book about how to write interesting stories, but so far is about this lady, who grows up to be an author. I'll recap what I read summarily, now. She writes about her expierences with her father, who also wrote. In it, she figures out that her dad smokes Marijuana and writes books about sex! So, yeah, pretty exciting. Anyway, it was good for a couple of laughs and I want to be a writer when I get older, so I'd give it a 3.75 out of 5.

The book 'nights at the rodanthe' is so interesting. it seems to have an ironic storyline. the man in this book first works on a farm. then, he gets a college scholarship, and goes into a sergical field. he runs 5 miles a day and works ninety hours a week, leaving him with only 4 hours of sleep. hehis life is full of celerity, and he cant seem to slow down. he finally seems to decelerate when his son leaves him and hi wife divorces hi. i left off when he sold his house and took time off to go to the outer banks, a group of small islands off of north carolina. it just got really interesting.

I am still in the process of reading Breaking Dawn. I'm currently at a part where Jacob gives Bella an animadversion against her marrying Edward. But Bella is very intent on marrying him so i don't think she will listen to him even though he is her best friend. I also give the book a 4.5 out of 5.

I am continuing to read the book Cell. Im not really sure whats going on yet, its kinda confusing. So far i would rate this book a 3 out of 5 because im not very far into it yet. I know if I read the whole thing i would give it a 5 because I like how Stephen King is very overt in his writing. He writes about so many different topics but they all catch my interest.

I decided that this week I would read "Of Mice and Men". From what I've read it's apparently about a man named George and his friend, and they have to go work on a ranch. George is so myopic though, that he doesn't even realize that his friend is mentally handicap. He thinks he's just insane. His friend also keeps a dead mouse in his pocket so he can pet it with his thumb. It's actually kind of funny, and it is good so far, so I'll give it a 4 out of 5.

this week for my reading i read a big article a bout the cleveland browns and how they rank them for this upcoming season i would rank this article on a scale of one to five probably a four out of five it is a good article. it describes how they reformed the offense and the defense by aquireing cory williams from green bay and sean rodgers from detroit. this article is special to me because in the article there is a picture of me handing my hat to braylon edwards thats what makes this article so special thats why i picked it for this weeks blog.

Today I started to read a book called How I Live Now. I only got to chapter 4. So far it's about a 15 year old girl who goes to England to live under the propriety of her aunt and uncle. The style that the book is written in is kind of weird, because there aren't any quotation marks when a person speaks; the beginning of the word is just capitalized. It's hard to understand because I'm not used to reading books with intentional mistakes. So far I rate this book as a 2, but I'm sure it will get better.

I read a few chapters of The Secret Garden. This book is about a girl named Mary Lennox. She is is a very foul girl and she does not like anyone.
She lives in India with her parents. She rarely sees her parents and looked after by servants because her parents find her too ugly and tiresome to look after. She tries to make things better but it ends up being perjortive because she gets put down more. An outbreak of cholera infectss the Lennox house which leaves no one alive but herself. I rate this book a 3 because it is kinda of boring so far.

Today i read a book off of the shelf.. I kinda forget what it was called but if i had to rate what i have read so far i would probably give the book a 3 or 4. The first couple pages i read was about the things that the men brought to a war or somthing like that but from reading what they brought i think that some of the men sounded kind of DEVIOUS! there was a alot of cursing in the book so that was another reason why they kindasound devious...but it was an alright begining kina boring.

I continued to read Plague Maker today. It's a 4 on my scale. It was suspensful last week, but this week they throw in a twist that threw the plot. I like this book alot it's literature that I like to read. The story is getting crazier and crazier. It's goes from him having a dream about a plane bombing to now seeing a psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist is a problem for the main character because he's causing a maelstrom between them by not letting him leave and just making him stay and think.

I am still trying to refresh my memory of A Thousand Splendid Suns. I would have to rate it a 4. During the beginning of the book it was kinda boring and not much action. Before I started read this book I was thinking it would have maelstrom events but it really didn't. On the positive side once I got more into the book I really started to like it. Also there was a lot of foreshadowing in it which made the book more interesting. Overall I would have to say the book was pretty goodand i'm glade this was the book they choose for summer reading:)

ha Sarah we really never agree on the books. The secreat garden seems intresting to me. lol. i dont know but theres jsut something about her being shunnded from her parents cause shes ugly that makes me interested. Its kind of weird that any paretns would do that to their kid. And its even more crazy that shed go out of her way to maske it all better. if i was her id be mad at the parents and want nothing to do with them.lol.i think i saw the movie too? only the boy was to ugly and seh was just left there with her dad who always works so the servents watch over her. its a nice movie.lol.

Kayla, The Penny sounds really interesting. I like chain events. My fav is The Sound of Thunder, where he steps on a buttefly in the past and it screws up the current day. Andrea, your book sounds really weird. Ed, once again, Your book sounds really interesting and hilarious. I've heard about Of Mice and Men, but never thought it was like that. And Dylan, quit talking to yourself.

Dylan, "From Bird to Bird" sounds a little odd. Why would someone bring details like that out in the first few pages? The celerity of that author is amazing. Anyway, it might be good. Andrea, Olympians are cool. I think it's odd how a different author took a character from someones book. It doesn't show that much creativity, But who am I to judge?

i would have to agree with kelly in the refreshing my memory part; my book is currently with one of my friends who has english next semmester. kayle, i would like to read thta book 'the penny' and i was wondering where i couldget it. and brendan, sorry, but im a steelers fan. of mice and men was a little bit wierd. oh n the book im reading takes place in one of my favorite places in North Carolina, in the Outer Banx, and it is really undulating up and down, but is a really easygoing smooth book.

lauren, I think you read the book called the things they carried! I read a few pages of it last week. I don't like the begining that much because I don't like war books when the author describes the way people died. I'd like to give an animadversion concerning this book but I havn't read the entire book yet. I don't want to judge a book on the first few pages.

Ed! That book sounds a little wierd. Why does that guy keep a dead mouse in his pocket? Is that supposed to be his friend? Wouldn't the guy smell from it? Ick! Why doesn't the other guy know this guy is handicaped? Maybe the mouse has to do with the title of the book. IDK. That book just sounds wierd.

Andrea, the book your reading sounds really interesting to me. I like learning about ancient greece and reading books like the odesey that we read in 9th grade.

KayLa,
I'm kinda avid to read your book. It sounds kinda interesting and Dylan's comment about it reminded me of the movie The Butterfly Effect.
Sara,
Although you find your book boring, it sounds like a really good book and maybe one i would read in the future.

Dylan, the book you're reading sounds pretty weird but interesting at the same time. I like reading books that can make me laugh, too. I didn't know you wanted to be a writer when you grew up, that's cool. I like writing as well because I am an overt person and I like writing about my views.

Haha Dylan ur killin me. " In it, she figures out that her dad smokes Marijuana and writes books about sex! So, yeah, pretty exciting. Anyway,.." Dylan, way to be overt with your opinions. Kayla, i agree with u, i hate books with too much detail.

Lauren Cozart said...
