He is very wise, intelligent, smart, cares for his children, wants what is best for them, eavesdrops a lot, sends someone to spy on his son,Claudius's advisor, gets stabbed by Hamlet, believes Hamlet just wants to have sex with Ophelia, his daughter, son is Laertes, uses his daughter to spy on Hamlet, tells the ki8ng and queen that Hamlet is mad for Ophelia's love,
OPHELIA -Polonius is her father -Laertes is her brother -No record of mother -Stays loyal to her father -Helps her father get information on Hamlet and why he's acting insane -Commits suicide (tree branch breaks, she falls in water, and lets herself drown) -In love with Hamlet -Hamlet loves her (but acts like he doesn't) -Hurt by Hamlet because he says he doesn't love her -Polonius thinks Hamlet just wants her for sex -Her father gets stabbed by Hamlet -Her brother goes to college -Witnessed Hamlet acting crazy with no hat, socks around his ankles and pale while she was sewing in her closet
Hamlet contemplated suicide after Claudius commits murder. His most famous soliloquy, "To be or not to be", expresses how he wished that suicide wasn't a sin. He keeps bouncing back and forth between the two thoughts of life and death.
We are not completely sure that Opelia committed suicide. the only description that we have of her death is from Gertrude. She lost her father due to Hamlet, and Hamlet has also been treating her like crap. She lost her head a little bit and became mentally ill. the queen says that her suicide could have been a possible accident although she was singing as she died.
she is the queen, she was very lost, she didnt know what was going on, she was decieving, very worried about Hamlet because she thought he was insane for real, she was quiet, she minded her own buisness, she married her dead husband brother, she dont think that is any thing wrong with her marry her brother in law, her and hamlet argues and he tells her that what she doing is wrong and she starts to realize that marring him wasnt the best thing to do, she is very caring, she dosnt have many parts in the play
Hamlets plot. hamlet writes lines to the play to give to the actors. He does this so that he can find out if claudius is guilty. The lines he writes are about a man who is poisoned. After the man is poisoned his wife finds him. The the killer comforts the wife and "woos" her. This is suposed to get a reaction out of claudius, which it does. This then proves that claudius has guilty thoughts for killing the king
GHOST Ghost in hamlet is hamlets father sumin form the dead to walk the earth as punishment for his sins. he visits hamlet telling him that there has been a foul murder but hamlet doesn't belive him and has to find a way to prove his death and get revenge for his fathers death but what he doesn't realize is that his uncle /step dad killed him by posioning him in his ear and has to prove that his dad was murdered
They are together throughout the whole play. They are team players. They work with eachother and Claudius. They deliver a letter the the king of England. It was supposed to say to kill hamlet but he found out. He switched his name to rosencrantz and guildenstern and they were killed.

*Hamlet apologizes and end awhen he is dying and he accepts his apology.
Hamlet feels guilty for lying to Ophelia by telling her that he doesn't love her and for treating her badly so when she is being burried he jumps down into the grave to hold her one last time. Hamlet also tries and succeeds in making his mother feel guilty for marrying his uncle after his father's death. Ophelia feels guilty for helping spy on Hamlet. Claudius feels guilty for killing his brother to get power, become King and marry his brothers wife, the Queen. Although he doesn't have enough guilt to pray because he likes what has been given to him and how powerful he has become.
-King of Denmark -Brother to dead King Hamlet -Brother-in-law/Husband to Gertrude -Uncle/Father to Hamlet -Killed his Brother -Obsesed with own power -Very Sneaky -Tries to murder Hamlet -Feels bad about murdering brother, but feels it can't be undone. Brother is still dead, he's still king, gertrude's still his wife. -Love for Gertrude seems sincere. -Manipulates people including Polonius, Gertrude, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, and Ophelia. -Killed by Hamlet (twice)
Insanitty -hamlet became insane aftere his father died or sometime around there. -hes insane becuase he made himself belive his own lie when he said that he loved ophelia when he did. -Ophelia was insane before she decided to commit suicide. -he prentends to act crazy to tey an trick people but in myst of that he became quite crazy. -hamlet kills three people and thats quite insane.
POLONIUS'S ADVICE - Polonius gives advice to Laertes before he leaves for college. -His 9 Pieces of Advice: 1. Keep you thoughts to youself, and think before you act. 2. Don't be mean. 3. Remember who your true friends are, and keep them your friends. 4. Try to avoid fights, but if necessary make your enemy fear you. 5. Listen to all people, and give few your thoughts. 6. Listen to all people, but make your own decision. 7. Don't get caught up in what everyone else is doing. 8. Don't borrow or lend things so your not in debt. 9. Be true to yourself.
The words ear and hear represent easdropping that is taking place in the story. Claudius is a man who manipulates words to enhance his own power. The sinister uses of words are represented by images of ears and hearing, from Claudius’s murder of the king by pouring poison into his ear to Hamlet’s claim to Horatio that "I have words to speak in thine ear will make thee dumb" The poison poured in the king’s ear by Claudius is used by the ghost to symbolize the bold effect of Claudius’s dishonesty on the health of Denmark. Declaring that the story that he was killed by a snake is a lie, he says that "the whole ear of Denmark" is abused.
