Blame?

Do Milton and Lanier seem to agree or disagree on who is to blame for the Fall? What evidence is there? Do you think their sex influences their portrayal of the events?

i think that milton and lanier both blame satan, but then lanier blames adam more than eve. Milton blames adam and eve equally, but lanier thinks that adam is to blame for the most of it.

They disagree with each other about who is to blame for the fall of man. Milton really blames eve and suggests that adam had to do it because he was in love with eve, who did it first.lanier suggests that adam is to blame for the fall of man because he was never tricked. He new exactly what the consequences for eating the fruit were. Eve was tricked by the snake and thought that the consequences weren't true. I think that their gender does play a role in who is to blame. I don't think it is a quincidence that a male thinks the women is to blame and that the female author thinks that the man is to blame.

Milton blames Eve for the fall of man, while Lanier blames Adam. Milton claims that Eve ate the fruit first, so it was her fault, and Adam only ate it because he was so in love with Eve. Lanier says that Eve was an innocent girl and Adam, however, knew that he was doing wrong.

Milton and Lanier disagree on who is to blame for the fall. Milton believes it's Eve fault because she believed the serpent and Adam did it because he loved Eve. Lanier however believes it is Adams fault because he was never tricked. I believe that the sex of the author plays a role in the way they percieve who is to blame for the fall of man. Seeing as Milton is a man and thinks its woman, and Lanier thinks its man.

I believe that Milton blames the fall of man on Eve, while Lanier blames the fall of man on Adam. I think that the author's sex influences who they blame. Milton thinks Eve is to blame because she ate the fruit after God told her not to. Lanier thinks Adam is to blame because he knew that eating the fruit was forbidden and that Eve was just tricked into believing that the fruit wasn't evil.
